Learning and making

Finding my self at a crossroads, where I need to sell more art and yet I feel madly self-conscious about asking for sales. I know It’s a part of being existing but still, I feel awkward.

The young crow sits and yells for meals. They have no shame of anger. They have nothing but drive. I need to become the crow again. Make and do nonstop for the November show.

So if you love my work, pick up a shirt, print, bag, or even become a collector of original art.

The hell with not being real. Art has this heart to it and if you can’t hear the heartbeat then I will see you on the other side. Paint requires me and inks but not those who can’t feel the strokes. Too long ago I stopped hearing the sound. I was deaf to my hands and canvas. It calls for all these colors and forms and now I hear the ringing and I’m going into the studio to bathe in it. Freedom is blinding and scary but if the shark gets me then I died doing what I love. To the anger … I can swim forever, can you?

busy making with painters tape.

I love doing these because they are so much fun and you never know how they will turn out.

I’m imaginary

I had this problem a few years back, I was in the middle of an amazing season of painting. I made around 300 little paintings a year and everyone loved it but a few people who had to tell me. Sadly I listened and it slowed me down. I changed my subjects a few times trying to find the same synergy and it has come back to me but I had this epiphany that I should just make as I do and stop listening to my outdoor demons.

I ‘m Jãws Blake and I paint for freedoms of the mind. I love the rest of you.

Painter Files Podcast ep 30

Hi,

I love you all and I want to thank you for this first season of the Podcast. Season 2 will be back March 25, 2018.

Next season we bring amazing changes brilliant ideas and concepts.

I found my voice by the water.

HI

Hmmm…

Dear Universe,

I would love to paint a wall that isn’t mine with some of my illustrations. I would love to have my work in magazines and newspapers. I don’t know how to get these up so I’m asking for help. I paint these beautiful illustrations people love and I feel if more people saw them I would be a famous artist. I sit on this edge of a pin and if the wind blows right I can fly.

anyone looking for a mural or even wanted to buy my art I can be reached via this guy.

Ocean of papers

The culture of paper is madness. I am a painter as you know. So much of who I am is a lover of paper. I remember in art school feelings almost a sexual attraction to huge canvases. Now I didn’t fuck canvases but I felt my blood excited and I would be on fire with creativity until 4 Am three days later. Those were the days of no sleep paintings. I love the madness.

makers

My cool girl gang got featured in The Washington Post. We have a rich style and love being Afro-Futurist. It’s really funny because we don’t make music but we come off as a band. A painter, a writer, a master of social media and a giant in knowledge beyond normal humans. They inspire me to look deeper. I am grateful for them.  Casey, Lisa, and Alec are the best. All on journeys all creating change. 28161417_10160039294925646_1113743591917432087_o.jpghttps://www.washingtonpost.com/video/c/embed/e59b11de-133c-11e8-a68c-e9374188170e

Life should inspire you.
